Klaus Peller, Director General of Mondi SLPK, and Sergey Gaplikov, Head of the Republic of Komi signed an Agreement on cooperation and relations between the company and the government of the republic. The new long-term agreement is concluded for three years. According to the document, the company will allocate annually RUR 550 mln in the regional economy.

Traditionally, road construction will be funded. In 2019, as per the Agreement, funds will be allocated in Usogorsk-Blagoyevo-Chuprovo and Koygorodok-Nyuchpas road sections refurbishment and access to the Zaozerye village (before crossing the River Sysola).

Assistance within socially significant programs in sports, culture, education and health, as well as sponsorship of major events will be also provided. In particular, the centenary of the Republic of Komi project is planned to be financed.

Besides, within the framework of the Agreement on the socio-economic partnership, Mondi SLPK will support harvesting districts, being its operation areas. 60 per cent of the funds will be allocated in new jobs and small business support. 40 per cent will be invested in the social infrastructure of municipalities (repair of schools, kindergartens and cultural institutions).

In turn, the Government of the region intends to assist Mondi SLPK in implementing significant investment projects, such as the Horizon Road Map, and in developing an intensive model of forest utilization and reproduction.
