A two-day practical session of Russian industrial clusters has ended in Syktyvkar. The session was organized as part of the competitive selection of cluster projects for a grant from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation. 22 enterprises from different parts of the country were able to present their projects, such as the Elabuga Battery Plant from the Republic of Tatarstan, the Association "Cluster of the Amber Industry of the Kaliningrad Region" and JSC "Ardatovsky Lighting Plant" of the Republic of Mordovia.
The official pre-defense of the projects was held at the site of the Syktyvkar enterprise LLC "Algraf" - an industrial technopark of the region.
Representatives of about 60 regions of Russia gathered for the pre-defense. The last defense of the country's joint cluster projects was held in 2019. In the same year, the pre-defense in the capital of the Komi Republic was organized on the initiative of the Head of the region, Vladimir Uib. The proposal to hold such a large-scale event in the republic was supported by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov.
- The selection of joint cluster projects in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia is planned to be held by the end of summer - in September 2021. I believe that today's session is a good training session before the second pre-defense in Mordovia, which will be held in June 2021. We are very much looking forward to the project from the Republic of Komi. I would like to note that we annually allocate about 700 million rubles to support the republic. These funds are used for subsidies to reimburse part of the costs, for the transportation of exporters ' products. We see good potential in the region. And the Ministry of Industry and Trade will try to provide full support to the republic, including on the proposed initiatives, " said Vitaly Khotsenko, Director of the Department of Regional Industrial Policy and Project Management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.
As the Minister of Economic Development and Industry of the Komi Republic Elmira Akhmeeva noted, a woodworking cluster was formed in the region in 2020, which currently includes 14 enterprises.
- We are ready to scale our woodworking cluster, to bring it to a new interregional level. This year, we also aim to get the status of an industrial cluster and enter the register of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. This will give us the opportunity to receive financial support for further development, purchase of equipment and compensation for part of the costs, including the modernization of the existing enterprise. Now we have a little time to prepare for the defense itself, to work on the identified errors, - said Elmira Akhmeeva.
In addition to the woodworking industrial cluster, it is planned to create an oil and gas cluster in the republic. In the near future, a meeting will be organized with representatives of oil and gas companies represented in the Komi Republic, including the development of the processing industry in the region.
