This was announced by Valery Tanayev, Chief of the Northern Railway, at a working meeting with the Head of the Republic of Komi in Sosnogorsk.

Sergey Gaplikov and Valery Tanayev discussed the implementation of the Russian Railways investment projects in the Republic of Komi and the development of freight and passenger traffic.

The Chief of the Northern Railway also presented the Head of the Region with the Gratitude of Oleg Belozerov, Director General / Chairman of the Management Board of the Russian Railways, for the fruitful cooperation, great contribution in the development and the company sustainable operation.

In 2018, over RUR 2.76 bln were allocated in investment projects of the Russian Railways in Komi. Construction of a workshop for track equipment repair and maintenance at Kozhva station (RUR 197 mln), modernization of the road bed of the Chum-Labytnangi railway line (RUR 293 mln), reconstruction of the railway track (RUR 668 mln), design of facilities within the framework of the Northern Latitudinal Railway (RUR 215 mln), and modernization of freight diesel locomotives (RUR 105 mln) were among the major projects.

To develop passenger infrastructure in Komi, a number of projects including the construction of Sosnogorsk station, and designing passenger platforms at nine stopping points are being implemented.

RUR 6,795 bln will be invested under the 2019 program of the Russian Railways into railway infrastructure and equipment in Komi. Designing of the Northern Railway infrastructural facilities for additional cargo traffic within the Northern Latitudinal Railway project and Sosnogorsk station construction will be continued.
