On February 8, a working meeting of Sergey Gaplikov, Head of the Republic of Komi with Roman Trotsenko, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AEON Corporation took place in Syktyvkar. The prospects for cooperation within the implementation of transport infrastructure investment projects in Komi were discussed.

An Agreement of Intent on the infrastructure development of Komi was signed between the Government of the Republic of Komi and Novaport Holding LLC, the part of AEOH Corporation.

The subject of the Agreement is the intention of the Parties to arrange conditions for implementing project on commissioning new Sokolovka Airport and transferring the air flights from the existing Syktyvkar Airport to the new airport.

According to the Agreement, Novaport Holding LLC expresses intension to invest in the construction of the required Sokolovka Airport infrastructure after passing relevant competitive procedures and the design documentation development.

The Government of the Republic of Komi intends to assist in attracting federal funding for the reconstruction of the airport aviation part (runways, taxiways, parking, aviation security, navigation and lighting equipment).
