On February 14, Sergey Gaplikov, Head of the Republic of Komi and Alexander Tsybulsky, Governor of the Nenets Autonomous District signed Protocol No. 7 to the Agreement of Intent on the development of cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Komi and the Administration of the Nenets Autonomous District. The Protocol was signed within the framework of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.

This Protocol comes into force on the date of its signing and is valid until December 31, 2021. The document adopted a new 2019–2021 Action Plan for the implementation of the Agreement, as well as updated working groups for cooperation in environmental management and environmental protection, reindeer herding and fishery. In particular, Roman Polshvedkin, Minister of Natural Resources and Anatoly Knyazev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Regional Government joined the working groups as representatives of the Republic of Komi.

The plan of joint activities between Komi and NAO in 2019-2021 includes transport accessibility improvement, interregional land, river and air traffic development, Russian Arctic Zone development projects, environmental protection, support of indigenous peoples of the North, reindeer herding and fishing, tourism development and other issues.
